The Physics of Sticks
These are some sticks I whittled in the brig. If you drop one from the top o' the mainmast, it'll hit the deck. This is because of physics. Observe also the annular striations at the tips.
Thank you for your enlightening explanation of Physics. I have always struggled with understanding cause and effect and gravity. I suppose this is because my Chemistry teacher was a woman.
I heartily commend you for your good sense in realising your own intellectual limitations. A female chemistry teacher is a terrible handicap for the budding salmon fisherman.

ReplyDeleteIt was the annular striations I found so hard to grasp. My dropping of Sticks has greatly improved since reading this.
